lyrics

I had a dream, 21, I’d be there and you’d be gone. Banished to the depths of time.
But, you hung around and dragged me down by my coat tails. I was sure I’d have shook you of by now.
You can’t stop me now or disavow. I’m like a time bomb ticking
I won’t allow those sly put downs. I’m alive and I’m kicking.
Years wandered off. Then got lost and they never wrote me back. I was a “Man out of Time”.
But, to self depreciate is like an inward hate and I’m full up to the brim with it’s poison deep within.
You can’t stop me now or disavow. I’m like a time bomb ticking.
I won’t allow those sly put downs. I’m alive.
You’ll don your coat. “Goodbye” you’ll choke. You’re like a dead man walking.
I’m ten feet tall, despite it all. So shut your mouth, when I’m talking.
You can’t stop me now or disavow. I’m like a time bomb ticking.
I won’t allow those sly put downs. I’m alive, I’m alive and I’m kicking.

Tales of the Tape:

Recorded by Mick Wilson at Far end Studios.

Mick Wilson played drums, organ, bar room piano, clapped his hands (in time), sang and wore a fireman’s helmet. I sang, played acoustic, electric and bass guitars, shook my sleigh bells, hit a Glockenspiel, clapped my hands (out of time), wore a fireman’s helmet and spent time in the sandpit. Low self esteem left the building.
